Any individual who is Bangladeshi but residing outside Bangladesh will be considered as Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB). The requirements for account opening for each are mentioned below:
Who is Eligible?
All Bangladeshi nationals (Bangladeshi passport holders) who are working/living abroad can open NITA. Foreign passport holders who are originally from Bangladesh are also eligible to open an account.
For NRB [Non-Resident Bangladeshi] Account:
• Duly filled BO Account opening forms.
• Three Copies Passport Size photographs of each applicant.
• One copy photograph of each nominee is attested by the applicant.
• One copy passport size photograph of Power of Attorney.
• Bank Certificate of FCA (Foreign Currency Account) and NITA Account.
• Photocopy of valid visa/work permit/citizenship card.
• Photocopy of cheque leaf of the said bank account.
• If the customer(s) provides the Power of attorney (POA) from abroad, POA has to be notarized by Notary Public and then attested by the Bangladesh High Commission or Consulate General’s Office.
• If the customer(s) physically comes to the head office/ branches, then the customer will provide the agreement with POA on a Non-judicial Stamp (worth of BDT300.00).
For Foreign Investor
Any individual other than Bangladeshi but residing in Bangladesh inside will be considered a Foreign Investor. The requirements for account opening for each are mentioned below:
Requirements for Foreign Account:
• Duly filled BO Account opening forms.
• Photocopy of Applicant’s passport.
• Bank statement/Certificate of FCA and NITA Account.
• Two copies passport size photograph of the Applicant(s).
• One photographs of Nominee(s) attested by the Applicant along with nominee details.
• Two photographs of the Authorized person attested by the Applicant along with details.
• Any other requirements by the custodian.
• Photocopy of cheque leaf of the said bank account.
